Welcome to Aughton Town Green Primary School Only My Best Is Good Enough For Me

The Green Team

Who are the Green Team?

We are a group of pupils from Reception to Year 6 who have been chosen by our peers to be part of the school's Green Team. We are all very enthusiastic and dedicated to improving the environment, both in school and in the wider community. We meet regularly to look at ways in which we can improve our school environment, especially working with the Forest School.

We have been really excited to start our Green Team meetings, our first one took place in June 2022 and we met with Mr Oldroyd, our school site supervisor. He is keen for us to improve the way in which we recycle at school and in the Autumn Term, we will meet again to plan how we will do this.

We were also involved in planting our Jubilee wood in the Forest School. We all got involved and planted a number of different trees. We plan to look after them in the Autumn and Winter and find out more about the trees we have planted.

Our Year 6 leads for the Green Team will be Jack, Connor and Emily.

SPRING 2023.

We are Green Tree School Bronze award winners!

Throughout 2022, the Green Team have been working to achieve the Bronze Award - one of our Green Team, Jack, would like to share what we've done...

As part of the Green Team, we have been working to improve our school grounds and Forest School. We have planted trees and wildflowers as well as working with our school site manager, Mr Oldroyd, to improve recycling in school. We made posters for new bins - to separate cardboard and paper as well as other recycling.

This has given school more natural beauty and made it greener. It's also helped the environment, trying to create more oxygen and helping to reduce carbon dioxide.

We are so proud of our Green Team and what they have achieved!
