Green Tree School Awards
SILVER GREEN TREE SCHOOL AWARD WINNERS!
We are thrilled to announce that we have achieved the Green Tree School Silver Award for our work throughout school in 2023 across the curriculum and in Forest School.
Recent achievements for our Silver Award include:
School assembly about the importance of trees within the environment and how we can protect it,
Year 1's visit to the woods in the Autumn Term to find out about their local environment and to learn about seasons and the changes in nature.
Through our Forest school sessions, children have developed a love and understanding of nature in our local environment.
We are now working hard to achieve our Gold award before the end of the school year!
We are Green Tree School Bronze award winners!
Throughout 2022, the Green Team have been working to achieve the Bronze Award - one of our Green Team, Jack, would like to share what we've done...
As part of the Green Team, we have been working to improve our school grounds and Forest School. We have planted trees and wildflowers as well as working with our school site manager, Mr Oldroyd, to improve recycling in school. We made posters for new bins - to separate cardboard and paper as well as other recycling.
This has given school more natural beauty and made it greener. It's also helped the environment, trying to create more oxygen and helping to reduce carbon dioxide.
We are so proud of our Green Team and what they have achieved!
