Class J - Year 6
Welcome to Class J
Welcome to Class J! Our teacher is Miss Jones. Mrs Skirenko and Mrs Woodward are our Teaching Assistants.
Here is a summary of some of the work we will be completing in the Autumn term:
English - This term we are looking at stories set in World War 2. Our main texts are 'Friend or Foe' by Michael Morpurgo and 'Letters from the Lighthouse' by Emma Carroll.
We will also be looking at narrative poetry later on in the term.
We read every day. Sometimes we read independently and other times we read with Miss Jones, Mrs Skirenko or Mrs Woodward.
Maths - We have started the term by looking at addition calculations and problems. We will look at angles, shape and some algebra as the term progresses. We will continue to improve our mental and written calculations and we are enjoying the times tables rockstars challenges!
History- Our topic for this term is World War 2. We are using different sources to find out about the experience of people involved in World War 2. We are looking forward to visiting Stockport air raid shelters on the 7th December.
Science - Our topic for this half term is 'Reversible Changes'.
PE - On Mondays we are developing our athletics skills outside. We need to remember our tracksuits and trainers! On Fridays we will be creating our own World War 2 dances. We need pumps on a Friday.
