Class G - Year 6
Welcome to Class 6G
Our teacher is Mr Gordon and we get TA support from Mrs Houghton.
Being in Y6 means we have certain responsibilities and jobs to carry out around school. We are expected to put 100% into every piece of work we do and be excellent role models.
We are always very busy in class and are looking forward to our final term at Aughton Town Green. It will be an action packed term with our Y6 production, residential term to Min-y-don in Wales and many other celebrations.
Take a look at some of the work we will be completing this term:
Literacy - We read every day. Sometimes we read independently and other times we work in a guided reading group. We also work on our reading comprehension and grammar skills in small groups. We are currently reading 'Goodnight Mr Tom' by Michelle Magorian.
Numeracy - We enjoy applying our mathematical knowledge and skills to challenges and investigations. Throughout the year there will be a big emphasis on reasoning and mental arithmetic.
Science - Our topics for the term are 'Reversible Changes'.
Art- Focus on Henry Moore.
DT - We will be designing and creating cars.
Computing - Programming - Developing an interactive game.
PE - We will be creating our own WW2 dance routines.
Music - In music this term we will be learning about 'Blues' music.
RE - We are learning all about the fascinating religion of Islam.
PSHE - We are thinking about the 'Wider World' and 'Democracy'.
